Are You A Whore?
LOL I have had some pretty intresting comments and emails since I posted this. LOL.
But before anyone gets offended, please read on and Ill explain just what I mean.
If you havent heard about MySpace and “whore trains” and other terminology that’s thrown about. A whore train Essentially is a list of people, you add yourself to the list and repost the list and the cycle continues, sort of like chain letters in a sense. So why would I want to join one of these trains? Well, you can make hundreds of “friends” in a very short space of time. The more trains you join, the more friends you will make!
Marketing via MySpace can be very powerful, especially if you’re product is targeted towards a very general audience (if it’s targeted towards young teenagers who are into gothic/emo/rock music then even better!) for example, if you run a image uploading website, then you’re bound to get alot of traffic by plugging your site to a list of a few thousand people, guaranteed. One of my contacts used MySpace to promote forums a while ago, he could get anywhere between 100-1,000 new members on a forum in a matter of days by clever MySpace promotion.
In order to market via MySpace you use something called a “Bulletin” which is basically a message you can send to all your contacts at once. It’s important to make your message stand out, so people will notice it and click it. No matter what anyone tells you, don’t have titles like “MySpace is closing down”, “Free dirty pics” or something totally irrelevent for the content of the message for 1 simple reason, you’re not attracting your target audience. If you had a title like “FREE IMAGE HOSTING FOR YOUR PHOTOS!” then you’re essentially pre-qualifying your audience, they click the bulletin and what’s inside matches the title. If you have “MySpace is closing down”, sure people will click but they sure as hell won’t be bothered to visit your site! It’s also wise not to send out hundreds of bulletins each day, people will get pissed off and become immune to them…..just one every few days/week should suffice.
Now, depending on the type of site you have……you may need to offer the person something in exchange for visiting your site. E.g If you run a Forum and are looking for new members, tell them that if they sign up you will comment all their pictures or something!

You can also make money by selling your account if you have a successful onel …i’ve seen 1 myspace account sell for nearly $1000 that had xx,xxx amount of friends. That some nice coin!!, But it just goes to show you with a little be of ingenouity and success you can cash in by not only selling a product or service, you can sell your account that you might not need and make some good money as well.
